Ah, hi LT - Sorry, not been around much for a couple of months (kinda got bored of boring myself!). Sorry you have been poorly - hope you are on the mend now and can occupy your time with some crafty bits!

welcome back Nat, i know what you mean about it ticking along so much that it's boring, that's pretty much what Mad Mavis is like at the moment just ticking along.

bathroom is still in progress, i'm really hoping it will be finished this week, but we had a bit of a hitch with the downstairs toilet but i think it's sorted now.

well the bathroom and downstairs loo are now functioning, we've still got the final bits to do but it's on hold till we get some plastering done, wish i could do it myself but i can't.
Finances are a bit tight at the moment, mostly because the bathroom has taken more money than expected, It's still cheaper than other builders quoted but still more than expected. I'm going to have to use our entire 'emergency' fund and then hopefully build it up again. Just need Mr LT to get onto the money saving game with real dedication.

What about using your time to scour freecycle/freegle/skill exchange (bake a cake, knit in exchange for diy etc) or gumtree for bits and pieces to help finish off your house.

    that's a good idea Uni.

we're lucky that we have pretty much everything that we need for the house apart from the big things like better windows and doors etc. but we can still keep our eyes open for things.
  • Looking forward to the detours!

    hi Uni
been a bit MIA again i know, probably because it's all going a bit pear shaped financially what with work being done round the house and i tend to contract into myself when that happens.

Weight loss is going fine though so i supose that's something to shout about.

Well done on the weight loss, LT. It takes some doing, especially when under pressure in other areas.

Keep your chin up: this phase won't last. When the house is done finances will have a chancce to straighten out. Just keep as much on track as you can, and if MSE can offer any advice, you only have to give us a shout. :)
