well an update from last night and today:

finally got hold of the solicitor, she's still waiting for info so I have to chase the other one (when i can get hold of him)

updated my bank accounts last night - credit card statement has been produced, and over half of it will come from house related savings so that's good, i should be breaking even a little more easily next month.

I've removed all the entries in my records for the second mortgage payment which kicks in with the new place, so that's an extra £500 in savings ready for when we do eventually move. either for enhanced legal costs or some flooring etc. I had put the full monthly cost in just in case, fingers crossed we move next month now.

input the electricity reading and we're still in credit despite having the heating on 24/ 7 at the moment :) going to have to keep an eye on it as we're close to breakeven.

keeping on the ball with the kitchen each day, though i'm feeling grumbly that it's only me who seems to be making an effort at the moment. I mean... tidying up the kitchen is not putting the pots in a pile by the sink unwashed, its actually doing the bloomin things! it annoys me even more because my hands really suffer from doing them and Mr LT knows that.

actually whilst having a grumble a question for the viewers: we have those plug hole strainer things in the kitchen and the bath so that food/hair etc don't go down the waste. It appears that Mr LT is incapable of clearing them, if he clogs them up his response is to just take them out and leave them on the side argh! is it a general man thing or is it just a Mr LT thing?

spent some of my lunch time today watching our 'resident' squiggle having a pamper/ grooming session on the tree outside our window - been the highlight of my day so far!

hope everyone is well and has lovely weekends planned

Hmmm, there is a possibility that this is part of a set of instructions set out in the man instruction book; I think it goes alongside 'you must not leave the teabag anywhere but in the bottom of the sink ensure that the little composting bin by the sink is completely invisible. Once the teabag lands, it too is invisible, meaning you can put the washing up bowl on top....

I think it also goes hand in hand with you do not have to put things back in the cupboard/fridge when you have finished using them (eg tea bags, sugar, milk), not do you have to close the cupboard door!!

*LT - this is a dangerous grumble you have started - but in general I know none of us would really want to be without our men!!*

My DH is really bad for leavin cupboard doors/drawers open. If I walk into the kitchen (or bedroom for that matter) I can see exactly which cupboards or drawers he's been in. Drives me mad

  • I can't really complain in the kitchen - although ALL of the above are valid (gunk in the plug strainer and bottom of the dishwasher really make me queasy) - except the teabag usually goes in the top item of the stack by the sink instead of the sink itself - as OH does all the cooking. However cupboard doors really get my back up, it's like he assumes they're self closing and I hate it. I can't go to sleep with wardrobe doors open and despite 9 years of slamming them it doesn't register!

sorry to have started something, now i have to admit that i really would never want to be without Mr LT and i love him dearly, but his other skills are leaving cupboard doors and draws open and also leaving rubbish on the side in the kitchen when if he turned 90 degrees and looked down he'd see the bin. Also he can never seem to find anything thats in his cupboards and draws yet if i just open them then what he's looking for is right on the top

on to much better topics of conversation:
i finally got a new phone today, i actually came back happy which is unusual when it comes to phones as i don't really 'get' them.
now i'm struggling to transfer my contacts from the old one to the new one, and as they're on different networks it's not easy. i could almost give up if it wasn't for the contract lol
