t-mobile delivery disgrace

got a new phone delivered the other day, i was out at work and the delivery company left it hanging on my front door handle, in full view with my name, address and a t-mobile sticker on it.
i didnt sign for it or anything,
i was told previously that the 7 day dsr started when i signed for it,
am i the only one that thinks this is disgraceful?

i live in a block of flats in a dodgy area

Hardly T-Mobile's fault now is it, point your finger at the delivery company.

I would send a written complaint to T-Mobile to inform them of your problem so they can contact the delivery company and ensure it does not happen to anyone else.
  • yeah i know what youre saying. i phoned them anyway to register my complaint

Phone the courier and ask for a copy of the signature.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • hhm but what good would that do? t mobile 'thanked me for being honest':rotfl::rotfl:

Look, I agree with your point about the shocking lack of any security by the parcel company.

But weigh the facts up. Your area is obviously not as dodgy as all that, so that's reassuring isn't it?

You would not have been liable for the phone if it had gone missing as you had not accepted delivery. (Inconvenienced, of course.)

T-Mobile thanked you for being honest as you could have sold the phone on and claimed never to have had it. What else do you expect them to do? Give you some money off your bill?

It is entirely down to the delivery company and if T-Mobile get sufficient complaints, they may change them.

So, take some comfort in the fact that you got the phone, were 100% honest about it, note the delivery company and don't ever use them. If you want to have a pop at them, then post their name up here and, who knows, it may just cost them some business in the future from a MSE member.

    Merry Christmas.

You are very kind and I am sure others might not agree.

As far as DSR goes, as long as the phone hasn't been used or the sim detached, then you have 7 days or greater, it depend upon T-Mobile's t&c, to return the phone.
However, as you have already contacted T-Mobile and told them of the circumstances, that is an admission of receipt, so the clock is ticking.

Do ensure that when he does get home, hopefully today, that he reads T-Mobile t&c re any use of the phoone breaking the DSR clause. Vodafone are quite good about letting you try it out, but I am not sure about T-Mobile.
