Graham is absolutely correct.
The heat, warmth or thermal energy(all are the same thing) is measured in British Thermal Units(Btu) or joules.
Whatever form of electrical heating you use, you get the same amount of Btu or joules for the same amount electricity consumed.
So any electrical appliance using, say 1kWh, will produce the same amount of heat. That means Granny's old 1950's 1/2/3 bar fire is equally efficient at producing heat as systems claimed to ultra sophiticated with radiators filled with all sorts of exotic materials(clay/gel etc) - and costing a fortune.
The only real difference is the way they deliver that heat. A fan heater produces almost instant heat - but no residual heat. An oil filled radiator takes longer to deliver heat because the oil is being heated, but when power is off there is residual heat. However for electricity costing x£ they both produce the same amount of heat(yBtu)0
