Premier property lawyers

Anyone out there had any experience with Premier Property Lawyer? Got their quote from www.myhomemove.com - sounds pretty good, but did anyone use them and what's the service like?
They offer both no move no fee and also should that happen second set of searches is done for free!! To good to be true?!

Many thanks

Yes I have recent experience of PPL and it was not good. The service was poor, communication non existent and the 'fixed fee' nearly doubled by the end. I recommend you use a proper solicitor. FYI myhomemove is their website.

I am in the process of useing them for both my sale and purchase at the momment.

Communication has been very good so far, my "case handler" (Tasneem) has responded to all messages left to call back and replies to emails on the same day sent. From other reviews I've seen on here I really think its a case of pot luck in terms of who you get as your case handler. So far I think we have been lucky with Tasneem. as an example on friday we had been waiting for most of the week for some documents to come through the post, as I wanted to make sure we had them for the weekend I sent an email asking if they could scan and email them. I had a reply email with all the documents within the hour. Typically they turned up in the post on saturday as well!

We have had the settlement statement and all the charges seem to be as origianally stated with no "hidden" extras. I will admit that you need to read the whole detail of what they sent through concerning the proposed charges and not just look at the headline figure.

They dont always update the website straight away which is a bit frustrating.

so at the momment the experiance is positive, I have had local firms in the past who have been harder to contact.

I am using them at the moment and so far they have been pretty good. The website does not always seem to update very quickly but other than that I have not had any cause for complaint.

Please bare in mind though that I am a first time buyer! I don’t have any experience with solicitors so for all I know they have been slow as hell and any other firm would have got me to completion stage by now. ;)

I used PPL for a recent FTB purchase and my experience with them was very positive.

I was regularly updated as to the progress and whenever something was sent to me I'd receive a call the day before it arrived telling me what it was and what I should do with it. Seeing the communication between PPL and the seller's solicitor I could also see that PPL regularly chased for completion of outstanding issues/queries.

My case handler was a lady called Beccy and I would certainly recommend her to others as I guess quality of service can vary from case handler to case handler.

Ultimately, the final bill didn't exceed the quote. In fact it was £55 under!

Knowing what some of my friends have been through with more traditional solicitors I would use PPL again.

People who look at this forum often will know that I am not a great fan of what some would call "conveyancing factories." However I do think you have to be fair - and sometimes the negative can unfairly outweigh the positive. So, Yes, last time I dealt with Tasneem on the other side she did seem to know what she was doing, and the transaction went through OK.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.

I wish I'd had Tasneem. Mine couldn't master spelling or grammar; be bothered to reply to emails; attach the right document; send it to the right address; etc. Could have lived with all that if she seemed to have the faintest idea about conveyancing.

    DON'T. For goodness sake.

Just make sure you get a conveyancing 'solicitor' or someone with at least 30 years qualification for your money. Smart movers do.
My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:

My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o
