If I ring sky tonight to cancel do the channels remain for ~30days as I appriciate that I have to give 30days notice? I only ask as I have a feeling that when I have cancelled a 'pack' of channels in the past (i.e movies) they went quite quickly :-/

Hoping to cancel so that I can get a new box in about 6 months ... fingers crossed :-)

The channels remain active until the end of your notice period,ie 30 days. And I gather you now have to wait a year before you can sign up again.

You can sign up again at any time as a returning customer but are not eligible for any new customer deals for 12 months.

Well, I went to cancel sky last night as last time I asked for a free Sky+ box they didnt budge, but last night I have been promised a new sky+HD box with £15 installation this Saturday. So quite happy with that.

Nicely done.Just a shame that now days you have to think about leaving before they offer the best deals.

Indeed it is. Have been with them 6 years, never hasstled them for a new deal every year etc but to get what I think was areasonable want, I had to be prepared to leave and rejoin some time in the future as a 'new' customer. I do generally dislike the principle of his tactic but felt that there was no other way. Alls well that ends well I guess. Happy with the deal - disapointed with how society/loyalty has gone.
