Hi gordyffc, thanks for your info and I agree why pay when you can have something for free!
But I'm obviously not as computer literate as you, and therefore have waisted quite a bit of money trying to get stuff for my phone.
I think I have bluetooth? But what about the cables you mention? where do I get them, and at what cost?
What you say sounds easy for someone who knows what they are doing, but I'm new to all this.
But any help and advise re: cables etc, will be appreciated.

Hi kg1,
sorry if my earlier comment seemed a bit harsh.
I would need to know what type of phone you have i.e make and model, which would determine what would have been the best way for you to get the ringtones to your phone.
I agree if it is just a one off ringtone that you wanted then it was probably cheaper the way you did it than buying a cable which can cost between £10-£30.
The only other way would have been via wap which would only have cost less than 20p if your phone supports that or alternatively I could have sent the ringtone to you by MMS (Multi Media Message). This would only cost me 35p to send. A bit like attaching a file to an email.
Anyway glad you got the ringtone. I searched the internet for weeks trying to find it and eventually got there**Cheers**

Hi gordyffc,
No you wern't harsh, just more knowledgable with PC's than me, I've never done anything like this before, well a screen saver a couple of days before, and that was through WAP something I'd never used before. Had to go through it step by step in the phone manual and a bit of trial and error. And I suppose it gave me a bit of confidence to try a ringtone.
But thanks for all your help and support, I appreciate it.
Anyway my phone is the Nokia 3510i, as MMS and that you could/would have been able to send it to me, thanks, but I hadn't even heard of that until you mentioned it, wow isn't all this new technoligy fantastic, especially if you understand it all.
Thanks again, and for any other help you can give will be most appreciated.

Hi , sorry to but in but don`t you need some kind of software program to transfer it to the phone? I tried oxygen manager free trial thingy and it didn`t work. ant ideas on anything else?  Timberlake Hussy Clique Member No 3  :drool:0 -
Again it depends on which type of phone you have.
If it is bluetooth enabled then the software that comes with a bluetooth dongle allows you to drag and drop files to the phone.
If you don't have bluetooth then yes you do need a data cable and additional software such as oxygen phone manger or mobi mb (updated logomanger) to transfer files.
If you intend to upload lots of tones and logos etc then it is worthwhile investing in cables and software.
In kg1 case it was probably easier and cheaper to do it that way.**Cheers**
