Can I cancel my contract when 3 mobile ups prices on 4th jan

They are increasing the cost of receiving paper bills by 50p a month, does this mean I can cancel my contract with them as they have changed the prices? Aswell as increasing prices inline with VAT which but apparently that doesn't matter because ... "We’re able to raise our prices in line with inflation and VAT."

The details are here
You can search - paper billing price increase 3 mobile - and on the blog they have more details

Thanks - James

    In short no.
Paper bill not part of tariff. VAT increase/decrease - its in the t&c.
  • Well that is a joke, I expected when I signed up to be able to see my bills, and they decide just to increase that whenever they want. is this definiatly in my t&c Ive had it for about 3 years now.

You have online access - you can view your bills online.
VAT change is a change in the law - its all covered in the t&c.
  • I don't have online access, I have made a special attempt to go to a freinds house and make this thread, I cannot be doing this every month.

Staying late at your friends then.
Isn't itemised billing that they charge for - so why not ask them to send you non itemised bill free.
There is no way out of the contract - put it simply.

Well there is, but only if you can prove that the change to the T's & C's is detrimental to you.

Theoretically, the OP could send them an income and expenditure sheet to prove to them that they cannot afford the increased charge for the bill.

He could also tell them that going to his friend's house once a month costs money for a taxi, which he also can't afford.

Again, there would have to be a degree of proof of this - a taxi receipt for example.

It would be the very definition of "clutching at straws" because i'd say it's 99% likely to not work but if the OP has got the time and the inclanation when why not give it a try ?

The likely answer will be, as you say, the free un-itemised bill, or a goodwill gesture of a few quid onto the account to cover the increased cost.

Shouldn't your contract be over then? I'm guessing you've had a new phone or somethnig else since, but just in case...

All the networks will be rising their prices in line with VAT and a lot are using it as an excuse to push their prices up "in line with inflation".

As Tripled said, if you signed up 3 years ago you're going to be out of contract now so you can end it with 30 days notice, if you've upgraded or even changed tariffs your most likely on different T&C than you signed up to 3 years ago.
