Pretty much all of the networks will be offering next day delivery (stock permitting of course), your approval's going to depend on your credit score, if you've got a bad credit score it might require some human interaction, if you've got a good credit score the chances are it'll automatically get accepted. All of the networks will allow you to purchase online.

In terms of where you should buy from it really depends on what you're after, do you just want minutes and texts, a fancy handset and a data allowance? What network has the best coverage in your area and how much value do you place on customer services and UK based call centres.

In my experience you'll always get a better experience buying directly from the network, you'll generally get a better deal, but you might miss out on cashback, freebies and choice of handsets, but you'll have more come back if something goes wrong and usually get the problem sorted quicker.
