Best iPhone app for calling UK

Can anyone recommend the best app to use for caaling back home to the uk when abroad - previously I have used Truphone which I have no issues with but notice that there are cheaper alternatives?

I use Truphone, 1.3p/min to the USA, over 3G as well is great....Skype is an alternative, but I don't think it's vastly cheaper.

its actually 4.3p per min - 1.3p for the call per min and then on top 3p per min connection charge....I know there are others cheaper....not a fan of skype personally

I used Truphone when I was in America back in the Summer, worked really well and clear.

The call cost more than Skype but the credit on Truphone doesn't expire so worked out cheaper for me since I still have half my credit left which I wouldn't by now with skype.

I think Truphone has lowered there rates since I went in July, so be better still for me.

If you're phoning another iphone, you might be able to use an new app called viber.

Its free as long as you can connect to 3g or wi-fi. You don't need to buy any credits or top-up cards.

I've downloaded it and so did my son. The call quality was very good.

It works from abroad.

You can download it from the app store. I think it it is going to be available on Android phones as well

Other options: Skype or Vonage for free iphone to iphone calls. Skype app with a Skype subscription (£3 a month) for unlimited calls to UK landlines.

I agree with the Viber app. Its brilliant! I use it for overseas calls and the call quality is good too!

Skype is great and can be free Wifi zone to wifi zone.
