My MIL heard about a grant for householders where you can get them replaced but can't remember what it is called. Her house is really damp and there all rotten, she is on pension credit and DLA.
Also are there any scemes in Essex who would decorate inside for her as it is too big a job for us to tackle as i'm disabled myself.

They use to be renovation grants and home assistance grants but some councils have scrapped these or put them on hold or have instead but a charge on peoples homes when they come to sell in exchange for work being done
Your best contacting your local council only they can advise0 -
Maybe if she gave your local Age Concern a ring they would know if your MIL can get anything .Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Why should the taxpayer finance her windows, doors and decoration when she spends all her money on bingo, the lottery and TV shopping channels?

It's a shopping channel on Sky TV channel 640. Some of the demonstrations are quite good and others leave me rolling on the floor and I can't believe people actually part with money for the tat they flog :rotfl:Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
