Benq Siemens E61

I bought my wife a new Benq Siemens E61 phone a while back but now she says she prefers nokias.

So i thought i would take it to a shop and get them to unlock it as its on virgin mobile and my sims are Orange or Vodafone.

When i put either of those sims in it keeps asking for a PLUP code (not a puk code).

Then i could use it for work to save bashing my good phone up.

The only problem is that all the shops said that it was too new to unlock which i find very hard to believe as ive seen loads of them on ebay unlocked.

Can anyone please help me out of this little mess.

To unlock virgin mobiles ring virgin on 789 and speak to the CS advisor, if your wifes spent £30 on the top up Virgin will unlock for free.

Anyone know any other way as i dont wanna use Virgin Mobile as reception is awfull and i wanna stick a contract sim in and not have to pay £30

try another shop, they are easy to unlock with the correct equipment. the phone is benq based not siemens. be aware 95% of phone shops no nothing about phones
