7200 with 3 on cheap deal...can I transfer sim? PLease please help
Help
Got a deal widely discussed on this board with CPW...cash back deal on 7200 (500 mins etc) with 3. I just can't stand this phone to the point of not using it at all.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO to transfer the sim...eg to my 6100 or another phone....
Please help!
Many thanks
Sarah

Presume you mean the 7600?
You can only put the SIM into another 3 handset. Otherwise if you put it in an old 2G handset, it won't be capable of using the 3 network and will latch on to o2.
When 3 find out (by o2 sending them details of all your calls and the handset used) they black your SIM and issue a new one which will only work in a 3 pohone.0 -
you are limited to the few phones that 3 use as they are the only ones that support wcdma, I also think the New Nokia 7610 + 6630 support this network....
the other older phones you mentioned are only GSM phones so the sim will not workEx forum ambassador

Do you know if a 3 Sim (Threepay or contract) will work in an Orange or Vodafone 3G phone?
Like Sarahmoo, I would like to use my sim in another phone but the variety Three(3) phones available is really poor.
Thanks

I can see something of people's dissatisfaction with the 7600, I could put up with the looks at the giveaway price.
But where I live, there is no 3 coverage, so it's roaming on O2. The signal is patchy, but I get much better O2 call quality on an old 5110 (with O2 sim)
Do other 3 phones have more sensitive reception?0 -
OK...next question!
Which 3 mobile is ok enough and cheap to buy?

don't know about the looks etc, but I just got an nec e228 for £32 from argos, on clearance, catalogue 547/9643
comes with 100 free minutes any network, + £1.50 on other services
I think it'll have to do me until I get a better fone for the 3 sim.0 -
Can you put the 3 sim in it alric?0

you can put any 3 sim in any networks 3g phone as long as it is unlocked, the 3g standard is the same for all networks like the GSM ones !!
The NEC's are unlockable by cable now for free (not tried by me but it's meant to work) or by paid for code, about £15-20. I do have the software for the free unlock but it is 160 meg !! so I cannot email it before anyone asks !!
The Nokia's are unlockable apart form the 6630 which is impossible to unlock (unless you work for Nokia).
The LG's are unlockable but not for free....there is one in the Argos clearance sale if you can find one !! the lg8120Ex forum ambassador

does that mean you have to buy a cable and then get hold of the 160meg software from somewhere?0 -

my contract 3sim from the 7600 went straight in the E228, no unlocking, and I made a call straightaway, no problems0
