Plumbing work does it need to be certified ?

Hello, the builders are due to start work in 2 weeks for a large extension to the house. Both my dad and OH's dad are very handy when it comes to DIY so we have enlisted them to do the electrics - OH's dad has his own electrical business that issues certificates so that's OK.

However, my dad is going to do the plumbing and I was wondering as the electrics have to be certified - is it the same for the plumbing ???? does a certificate have to be issued ?

I have been told it has to be bonded ????/earthed ????

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Many thanks Welshy x

    Have you checked whether there are sewers/water pipes running under where the extension is going to be built?
  • Some of the plumbing work may have to meet building regs requirements - is your father familiar with those?

    Plumbing that involves a boiler/shower may need to be certified.

    Best bet is for your dad to get the building inspector around - which you will be doing anyway - and ask his advice.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
