How to transfer money internationally

Hi,
I need to transfer some money (approx £200) to a niece in Canada.
What is the best way to do this? I know banks can do it but they can be a little expensive. I would do it via Paypal but she doesn't have a paypal account.
She's suggested that I could transfer the money into her Dad's Pokerstars account? Has anyone got an experience of using Pokerstars for this purpose, or any other method?
Any help would be great.
