Just bought a Nokia 6111 for a pal (xmas present) but know he is going to want to change to his sim

just read the first web site on an old nokia 6310i and the first unlock code worked perfectly

I don't know if this is always the case but I recently got four vodafone sims so my family could go on the new £5 family tariff and my o2 contract phones all took the sims without any need for unlocking.

Hi

I have a Nokia 6230, currently locked to Vodaphone.

I went to the 'unlock.nokiafree' site listed in the first post, and it generated some unlock codes for me.

I've used 2 (one ending in +7# and the other in +1#, as per the advice in the first post) and both times my phone says 'Code Error'. I've tried it as per the advice to remove the sim and enter the code, but it's not working.

If I try putting another network sim in my phone, though, it comes up with the message: "Phone Restricted - enter restriction code'. Should I be putting the code in then?

(I haven't tried yet, as it says in the first post instructions that's for the 6230i, and I don't want to permanently lock my phone by repeatedly getting it wrong! Plus I've used those codes now, and am not sure if I can try them again)
