If the phone line is BT then they are not breaking any rules by calling you. They don't just have to stick with the product they are already supplying they can cold call you with impunity.

Of course you don't have to listen or even answer - I don't pick up on any calls in the evening if I don't recognise the number (or rather if the phone itself doesn't have the number in its phonebook to give me a name).

I cant wait for a phone call. The box in out road has been cabled but they arent talking orders until Jan 2011. Im still a mile from the box but that's still better then the 5 miles to my exchange

Complaints to the ASA against Virgin who for some time have been advertising their product as "fibre optic broadband" weren't upheld, despite that fact that they also do not provide fibre to the premises.

That was one of the issues we had as engineers for NTL/VM,I had a fault which in reality wasn't a fault as the customer was unhappy that is BBand was ran on copper from the street cabinet & not as advertised.

For that he got billed £55.....For wasting my time & for taking up a slot which could've been used by someone with a genuine fault.

I am with o2 BB and happy with it. £10 pm is very tasty.

    I am with TPS.

£24.99 is too much really cos would have to add line rental and calls to that too.

Why don't they just write to customers by email or post. Plusnet email regularly. I hate the "how are you, are you aware we can offer you blah blah" just desperation in my view.

I had 3 identical letters from BT Infinity in yesterday's post :D
Still can't decide if the faster speed makes up for their blood pressure raising CS and 'tech support' line
  • Hello all,

BT Infinity installed one month ago, took about 5 attempts at ordering as BT are so useless but now getting down speeds of 32mbps an upload of around 8mbps so well worth getting!

Before I was getting 1mbps down and 0.2mbps up!

I can now experience the internet!

How far away are you from your box? Im assuming that you are only fibre optic to box then copper to house?
