What crafts have you been doing in the snowy weather

I just realised i have done loads of crafts over the last few days because ive been of work due to the snow.

I've made
  • A scarf for my brother
  • done some pretty wrapping for xmas presents
  • made a gingerbread house
  • made gingerbread biscuits to go on my tree
  • made crochet tree decorations
  • made a crochet scarf for me.
So what have you all done thought it would be nice to see what we have all done and maybe get some inspiration for my next thing to make. :snow_grin

Not as much as I should have really but made:
two kitchen organisers from old placemats,
a little memo/reminder board from some old thick card I found.......added pegs to it and a little calendar,
covered two shoe boxes with some red textured wallpaper - If I don't use them this year they're ready for 2011,
    2 button necklaces,
    2 weather wallys,
appliqued a motif on specs cases I'd made earlier,

Thats about it and the snows still here so apart from getting stuff wrapped I've a little hexagonal box neighbour gave me thats crying out to be covered and a free bottle with red and gold top -would lend itself to gold wrapped chocolates I think:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Gosh! I admire your industry - in this weather all I feel like doing is curling up in front of the fire with a mug of cocoa and a good book.

    Mary-op, What's a weather wally?

Been making personalised coasters and working on another cross stitch picture.

Planning on making paper chains with the kids once the tree goes up and might make some more cards :)

I wanted to know what a weather wally was as well.

I did just feel like curling up at first but then I got really bored, I never realised it would be so hard to find things to make when i could only use the stuff I had at home

I have been a little busy this week, 5 scarves to sell at work, 6 sock monkeys, two knitted rabbits for a couple of nappy cake orders, 18 duck soaps, 15 pints of socks, 6 flannel cakes and 15 glass bead bracelts, just rolled the nappies for the nappy cakes and just about to stuff my bunnies, well done on everyone else makes.

Weather wally I found on the Crafting for Christmas thread (I think) -I'll check it out and have a look.
It's basically lengths of wool plaited -as thin or thick or as long as you like I think.........then when you've finished put a couple of googly eyes on tie a label on it with a verse.

    If he's wet it's raining
    It he's white it's snowing
    If he's stiff its freezing
    If he's swinging its windy
If you can't see him it's foggy
If he's gone -you've had hurricane

Edit : Just done a search and it was on Crafting for Christmas thread, page 127, CandyB101 did it. There's a picture to see as well that gives a better idea

Thanks for the explanation mary-op. I should have made the connection, because we have a weather rock in the village hanging from a piece of rope, with similar wording underneath. :D
