T-Mobile - an OK deal??

I've been with T-Mobile for years, although I know that doesnt even count for "Jack", however I wanted peoples views on whether my current tarrif is any good, or what new deals there may be that are similar but cheaper once my contractual obligation expires.....
I currently am on a T-Mobile tarrif which gives me 500 cross-network minutes after 6pm and 50 texts per month for £17.50 per month.
The full price is £22.50 or £25 per month but i get some kind of loyalty discount, do I have to re-negociate this after a year?
There is no chance of a free upgrade (& there wasnt when i got this tarrif), as my bills are always less than £25 per month

You ain't going to like this but.........my tarrif with T-Mobile is that old i've forgotten what its called........i pay £9.99 a month line rental which includes itemised billing. I get 500 free minutes for local landline and T-Mobile phones plus 50 free texts per month. I never use the full amount of either of these and its my work/home/mobile phone.
Average monthly spend is about £15 but i still get free, and paid for, upgrades every year but the phones aren't the very latest (normally about 6-12 months old). Last year T-Mobile wanted £20 for a T630. I refused point blank and they eventually relented.
The only advice i can offer is to pester them for a free upgrade or threaten to leave for another operator. It may work, it may not.Vedra Nativa0 -
at the time it was the best I could do - I was kicked off my old tarrif when they ceased to offer it anymore (it was an all in one tarrif where I paid for the line rental up front - about £100 for the whole year)
most of my calls are to other mobiles in the evenings so i like what I've got, just trying to bring the cost down....You gotta be in it to win it, and who knows you might even get a Brucie!0 -
You Definitely have to renegotiate the offer, T-Mobile only makes 12 month offers of Loyalty discount
Mobile phone companies dont look at the amount of spend when it comes to the upgrade but look at the amount of profit that a customer makes them. Voicemail maybe free, as are the 'free minutes' you use. Person A + Person B may have bills exactly the same but Person A calls voicemail and 150 customer services on a regular basis using all of their free minutes, Person B may never use the phone at all. Person B is more profitable to the company and likely to get a better deal.
Receiving calls from other networks generates the companies money as does payment on time and via Direct Debit.
I have always found the 'Can I have my PAC code?' routine works a treat as it shows you are inent on leaving, at the end of the call when given a PAC code I am fairly confident that I have been offered the best offer the company is willing to give.0 -
i rang vodafone lastnight saying my contract was due for renewal next month and just wanted to know how much I had spent with them over the last year
this obviously got them thinking and I ended up with a really good upgrade deal
its defo worth letting them know that you are shopping around0 -
