Morning Loop...we went to Dublin in April and stayed in Jury's Croake Park Hotel (spelling), we booked it through secret hotels on the last minute website, and it was gorgeous.

10 minutes walk to O'Connell street, nice quiet area...highly recommended.

We stayed in Walton's Hotel a few years ago, above the music shop. About 10 min walk up O'connel street and fairly quiet area. Not a mega posh or stunning hotel but nice enough, clean and friendly.

Hmm gets very mixed reviews on Tripadvisor though.:o

    Hi Loop,

As your thread has dropped off the front page of the I Wanna board, I've moved it over to the travel board to see if you can get some more replies.

Bit of a co-incidence but I'm looking for a hotel for the night of Sat 16th Dec. Looked at Jurys Inn Parnell Street - any good? Seems alright according to TripAdvisor.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)

    Hope that helps

  • The Aston Hotel which is on the south bank of the Liffey, and 2 mins walk from Temple Bar, has some rooms available for those dates.

I stayed there in july this year. Excellent position for everything Dublin has to offer.

  • I spend at least one month a year in hotel rooms, and Jury's Doyle was one of the worst places I've been in. Our room wasn't cleaned on one of the days despite repeated promises, that was a first, they took off 15 Euros for that. We didn't get a wake up call, that was a first time ever non-event in the hotel industry. The room was shabby with the trim peeling off the lamp. Huge coaches picked up and discharged volumes of tourists, they have the room for that business whether individuals stay there or not. A short bus ride takes you to Grafton street, too far to walk.
