Thanks but I'm not really a big fan of yabb! Thanks anyway! :)
  • or how about https://www.invisionboard.com
although theyve made it so you have to pay for it now. I've used YaBB, PHPBB and Invision boards over the years on my website and I have to say, Invision is certainly the best in terms of features and usability, and most stable.

Also don't let stuff in Dollars put you off, this country is a rip off for almost everything, you can get just about anything cheaper in the USA, if it's anything to do with the internet get it from America, that's my advice. Example:

UKReg domain registration, probably the cheapest in the UK, to buy a .com for one year costs £10.44 if i've done my sums right.
However on idotz.net it costs $8.75 which works out at a mere £4.80 (varies) when paying by PayPal, certainly saved me a lot after all the domains Ive bought.

As for a host, you could try one of these: https://www.supanames.co.uk, https://www.me2uweb.com, https://www.ukhost4u.com

Thanks! I do like the look of invision, but it doesn't look as user friendly as php!

    Thanks any way!
  • Just a quick thing to remember about your domain name. If you are a UK targeted site and it's a co.uk then host it anywhere and you'll be fine. If it's a .com make sure it gets hosted on a UK based server otherwise Google will assume it's a US site.

If you're aiming at a global audience you need a .com anyway and server location isn't a big issue.

Well I have ordered hosting from hostplus.

Only thing I was annoyed about was the payment options, (paypal, nochex, cheque)

paypal option wouldn't work for me.

In the end I just paid by BACS

I alway's use CC for paying for hosting, kick up a stink about PP. They've only just introduced that method so something is obviously wrong. Will you be using Access as you DB or MySql!!
