Sell or keep gold necklass?

            Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
If gold will hold its value then its worth hanging on to, and maybe look to sell in a few more years.
As for the morals discussed in this thread, I never once asked if it was morally right to sell as I can make that decision without having to ask peoples thoughts.
My question was quite simply "is it a good time to sell"
For those of you who answered that, cheers :beer:0 -
Sell it only after you have sold your shoes...As an investor, you know that any kind of investment opportunity has its risks, and investing in Stocks or Precious Metals is highly speculative. All of the content I post is for informational purposes only.0

Does your daughter like the necklace? If so, keep it.
If not, perhaps ell it and put the money in a good unit trust - perhaps either a good "old faithful" UK equity income fund like Invesco Perpetual High Income, or a fund like M & G Global Basics. When your daughter reaches 16, the units can be transferred into an equity ISA which means any profit will be tax free. I've read tht the government are planning to introduce Junior ISAs in the next 12 months although I'm not sure what they will consist of. Perhaps wait and see whether that would make an alternative vehicle for any money raised.0
