Yes that will be enough0 -
Hi, you only get an exemption card if you get working tax credits and fit the criteria.
If, like yourself, you claim any income related benefits i.e. income support, ESA, JSA etc then your award letter is your proof of exemption. All you need to do is take your IS letter to the dentist with you and they'll do the rest. It's the same with prescriptions, eye tests and optical vouchers; although with prescriptions not all chemists will ask for proof so you just tick the box that applies to you.0 -
income support is a means tested benefit, and you are entitled to free dental treatment.
if the dentist wont accept the letter as proof, go to another dentist cos he's pulling a fast one!0 -
It was the OP who told the dentist that she had a card when she didn't, the dentist didn't demand one!
OP clearly assumed that tax credits was the reason that she was getting NHS funding for prescriptions and dental work when it was income support that was her reason and hence her lack of tax credit exemption card.0 -
Closed for lunch maybe? IS letter is all that is required.rockerchick wrote: »The dentists at the consultation said i need my card when i come back for my treatment (i told them had a card cos i thought i did and thought i could order a replacement one) So if i just take a letter saying i get income support will that be sufficient enough?
