The core is pretty much useless by itself. A memory card can only really hold a gamer tag and little else. A hard drive enables you to download demo's and trailers, updates for games and download mini games to play on the arcade. The best thing to do really, and most cost efficient is to buy the core and a hard drive, as the cost of batteries for the wireless controller will add up in the long run.formerly mrmilo690

i got the plug and play kit for my wireless controller
basically a rechargable battery pack with a cable that can plug into xbox(usb conection) to charge when it is running low, only cost £15. much better than cost of batteries like you said0 -
Thanks everyone for their advice I have decided to go for the full system, have ordered it from Boots because of the points deal at the moment. Will probably be back after advice in a couple of days, am so excited:j kids will be beside themselves:T0

I got the quick charge kit which comes with 1 rechargable battery and purchased a 2nd rechargable battery. Means I just put the batteries on the charger and let charge over night (just wish I had a nice tv to play it on)
