my partner gets middle rate care dla, i get carers allowance and we get joint income support. My partner had a letter from DLA stating that he will be getting his £10 bonus before Tues 7th. Do i get a christmas bonus as well or do you just get one per couple?

You should receive one as well as you receive Carers Allowance.
  • Going off the subject a bit...does anyone know why it takes DWP so long to pay the £25 cold weather payments? After the bad weather back in January, we didnt get our FIRST cold weather payment until about 3 weeks AFTER the snow had gone and temperatures were normal again!!! Where are the payments when you really need them? Anyway, did that postcode checker thingy on their website on Friday, a cold weather payment has been issued for people in our area so rang them as it says on web that it will be paid in 14 working days(kinda explains why it takes so long to get to you!). Advisor however said it would be in peoples accounts middle of next week. You never know what to believe!

The bonus applies to AA, but if it is paid with another benefit (such as pension credit), it won't be paid for AA as well. You can only receive one Christmas bonus per person, regardless of the amount of qualifying benefits that you receive.

What was the £60 one-off payment for? Did it only apply to people on dla as I am on long term incapacity and I never recieved this. Just asking because if I qualified I will chase them up.

THe £60 was a one-off payment announced in the November 2008 pre-budget report and should have been awarded to anyone claiming State Pension - it was basically intended to be an easier way of effectively bringing the rise in State Pension rate that was due in April 2009 forward to the start of the year.

I was on IS or IB at the time and I got the one off £60. It was meant as an economic boost, and went to anyone who got the £10 xmas bonus.

Thanks to you both for the answer. But was it only for people of state pension age?
