Hi Folks
I know that a freesat PVR needs a dual lnb satellite dish, but can it also work from two separate dishes ?
Thanks

Freesat PVR can take input from a single dish with a single or multi LNB, also OK to receive from more than one dish. I am about to install a 4 way LNB ( £20 to £30 ) on my dish. 2 will be used for main TV+Humax PVR, and 2 for bedroom TV.0

Quad Lnb for a fiver del. I've put a similar sky quad lnb on my non-sky dish.
Satellite pvr doesn't always need two inputs - but you would have to watch what you record.
The Ross HD kits at b&q for £79 have usb record capability - black dish ones are better.

Right folks, the two satellite cables fitted the back of the Freesat box with no problems, and good pic on TV and able to use Freesat box properly (Record 2 programmes at once etc). :j
Now the fun bit.
Been given a DVD player/recorder, and want to have it set up so that I can watch my DVD's, but also to be able to record onto DVD programmes I've recorded on the Freesat.
How do I connect them to be able to do both ?
Am I living in cloud cuckoo land wanting to be able to do both of these things without swopping cables around, or is it a no-go straight from the start ?
Many thanks in advanceBaby-Mechanic

what models are the pvr and dvd recorder, it'll depend on what connections they have as to the best way to connect them up.0

PVR is Humax Foxsat-hdr (Freesat +),

DVD is Sony RDR-HX725,
and if it's of use the TV is Samsung LE26R7
Hope this helpsBaby-Mechanic

I assume you're using the HDMI to goto the TV from the Humax. Next best then is SCART. Use the TV SCART ((which MAY be the only one with RGB) into the Line 3 SCART on the Sony.0

Apologies for my lack of knowledge, but what is HDMI and RGB ?
I am currently using SCART for both Freesat and DVD to the tvBaby-Mechanic

HDMI port is the one to the left of the Ethernet port on your Hummy, looking from the rear. You won't get HD using a SCART connection-use the supplied HDMI cable. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you are connecting a Foxsat HDR without using an HDMI lead you are not getting the benefit of the HD channels - always assuming that your TV has HDMI input and is HD Ready. I'd suggest investing a couple of quid in an HDMI lead off eBay.
=== too late - the macman got there first and even remembered there was a bundled cable - I wondered where my spare one had come from.0 -
MY HDR came with a HDMI Cable so I guess yours should too , sadly my lounge TV has no HDMI port, am negotiating OH to change it4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex .
