Hate Ebay? How you can help me.

As a buyer I want to easily see what the total cost of the item I am buying i.e price plus p&p. Adding another cost may be easy to work out but I see people complain about P&P when they should be thinking about total cost and not just the bid price - or it just may be me.
"Ebay have Free listing days as everyone knows. But i will have Free buying days. This will mean that any sales made on the day will not be charged."
How would this work for auction items that don't finish on that day?
You made several comments and comparison regarding a buyer wanting items for the lowest possible amounts such as
"Thats your opinion. I know it will not be for everyone. But if you were looking for an item you would want to get it as low as possible wouldnt you?"
"You see an item which is priced at £100 , and after a little looking about you see the same item on another site for £96. Which one do you buy? (Honestly)"
These would only really apply to fixed price items rather than auctions, as on auctions you don't really know what the final cost will be until it finishes. In reply to the above question, honestly it would depend on a number of factors. A saving of £4 would not automatically mean I would buy it from that seller.
So far there is nothing that would make me as a buyer regularly visit and buy from your site as it would appear to be geared towards fixed priced items.
What makes me visit ebay is the chance to grab bargains for things that I would like but do not need right away or anytime soon and do not require or justify buying new.
I may be one of the lucky few but I have never had any problems buying or selling on ebay but that may be down to me only having 40-50 transactions a year.0 -
You're assuming all buyers are scammers, which isn't IMO the best way to go about setting up an e-commerce site.
That's the big thing that you're losing: the interest of the people who pay for the items your sellers will be selling, and that means that sellers won't want to sell, because you can't get them the traffic. You're assuming you're talking to sellers here - sorry, but no, a lot of people on this site are also buyers, or like me, primarily buyers.
Why you want to insult your end-users is beyond me, but until you change that attitude, then you won't get off the ground.
I fail to see how i have said that all buyers are scammers.:o
If i was to do it the same way as all the other auction site and charge the seller you would be saying you fees are too low/too high. So i can't win.
A seller will not pay a listing fee if you have little or no traffic. But as a buyer they have the option to look and buy only if they really want it.
To me it is simple.
Both the seller and buyer know EXACTLY what they will pay even before the auction has ended. Can Ebay do this? NO.
All of the fees on ebay are hard to work out before your auction has ended.
I dont see what you are implying about my attitude.I have insulted no one.

I had a look at the advert. The site does not exist either. ANd it is called Layforprofit, whilst his handle is laying4profit
Looks like thats all he sells as well. 100% positive feedback from 803 sales. must be a good scammer.
People buy that rubbish must mean they are desperate in my opinion. It wont work. There is no system..
Anyhow. Its not me so can we plaese drop that now. Thanks
I will have to take your word for it that your not the betting person people are saying you are, that you are not the person selling those betting dvd's on ebay.
Of course, its one heck of a co-incidence that someone with a similar style of user name, is posting a pretty much identical post about setting up an identical website to yours, on a betting website..
And that person is a avid poster on said betting website.
the post in question.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

A good point. I will look into this.:T

Don't get me wrong OP, I'd love to see you succeed, (I don't make a habit of wishing failure upon people, except liverpool/man city), but I just fear that in spite of your enthusiasm, this just isn't viable, and you could stand to lose money.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

I dont wish to be an affiliate thanks. I want to be able to offer new rules to buying and selling and not be governed by Ebays terms.
I have to give it my all and see if it works.0 -

The seller does not have to include P&P fees. And everything is all laid out clear to read.

Anything SOLD on the day would not incurr fees. Like Ebay all members would be told a week or two in advance of the listing advantage. You can then make the auction end on that day if you wish.

I was using the £100 as an example of an item that sold for that price. As stated if an item was sold for £100 the buyer pays £1, if an item sells for £10,000 the buyer pays £20.The fees are in a tier and these fees are fixed.Min fee is 10p max fee is £20
So far there is nothing that would make me as a buyer regularly visit and buy from your site as it would appear to be geared towards fixed priced items.
No it is not fixed fee items. There are Auctions,BIN,Make offer.
