Have you factored the tax man's "take" into these calculations - he won't allow wage slaves to charge the cost of going to work against his share that he gets for doing nothing..
Well, I was simplifying it down to turnover/basic. I'm on a run of good days at the moment ... 3rd day that's been almost respectable :)

I have expenses, probably £2-3k/year (mostly domains, hosting, random bought things). As I am not a homeowner, I don't 'benefit' from tax deductibles.... and if I were a homeowner it'd be so little space it'd barely be worth bothering with.

Weren't there some poor farmers who rented out some fields for "temporary" tyre storage. Only the crooked renters melted into thin air after piling millions of tyres on the land in huge heaps. What happened after that?

Taking rubble was ince a popular way to make a bit of money. I wouldn't e surprised if that had happened here. Thank goodness we don't have millions of tyres....only a few dozen. (tyres were from the silage clamps here)

Tip: if you decided to sleep underneath a dog-dog don't pick a two seater sofa to sleep on.
Top tip. I think tomterm8 should write an ebook about that.

Don't think you are missing out, its only something like £3 a week allowed as expenses. So even a 50% tax payer is only saving £1.50 a week.

Maybe I should mention, before somebody says "XYZ Hosting, £10/year - and 5 email addresses".... I have three hosting accounts, two of which are full 'reseller' status. I have about 30+ domain names. One of my hosting accounts is for a specialist system, that I pay extra for the UK server for and I pay extra for some support or other.... but this is the MAIN domain that actually brings in 80% (or more) of all my money, so I'm happy to fork out anything to keep that bugg4h going.

So, no.... "All you can use hosting and 5 free emails. No popups" won't fit my needs :)

You know earlier today we were talking about deSmithing the house? Five years on and we've got another one. I could smell burning this evening. Turns out the storage heater in the lounge has switched itself on (its cold enough to trigger the thermostat). This is with the switch off at the wall. They've put a switch on the wall, rewired the heater and I can switch the damn thing on and off and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference, the wiring for the heater must bypass it and they've channelled it in the wall and plastered over the top. FFing bodgers! All this time we've been using a switch that is purely for decoration. Thankfully we can isolate using our master fuse box but thank goodness we're home to notice. Builder peeps - any idea what we need to do, other than swearing a lot?

Oh's family too! When they mvoed into their house in the mid-1980s, it was all, every wall, every ceiling, painted dark purple. Which was a touch oppressive. They called it "De-Smithing", too. They left the hatch up to the loft purple, just to remind themselves from time to time (-:

Poor people who de smith after us. I'm atm toying with painting a mural in the down stairs loo walls, when its in, after the cover of ''The Golden Bough''.

I also feel like putting something truly atrocious at the front of the house, just to excite the planning dept who are quite clearly moneywasting and rather dim. (unless they are reading this, in which case I'd like to clarify that dimness is alwise a quality I've admired in people and money wasting is really deliciously flamboyant)
