My in-laws got cavity insulation & loft lagging (10 inches) done for free, because they were over 75.
Pretty carp job - could not do the wall under the ornamental tile hanging and when they came to the [STRIKE]pyrocantha [/STRIKE] thorn bush growing on the wall they went round it!

    1980 detached house

The energy companies have been forced to subsidise insulation - that is why you see the offers in the DIY sheds that say "Not for resale orders limited to xx rolls or yy sq mt per customer"

Applied for 40 events between me and the mrs and got 3.
We got table tennis mens team final, showjumping and weighlifting finals.
Nothing from the majority of the application (the most popular ones) which were cycling, athletics, swimming, rowing and gymnastics despite applying across more than one price band on every single one of them.
Over £5k applied for and total bill = £367

my mum got tickets to gymnastics, although not sure whether it's the final of anything. i know someone who got 2 tickets to swimming as well. otherwise everyone's just got all the rubbish events like handball and waterpolo.

i applied for 2 tickets in all pay bands except the most expensive for every session of the cycling and got nothing. i know several other people who applied for a lot of cycling tickets and got nothing.

surprised that ebay isn't covered with tickets already - no doubt it will be in due course.

When I filled out the form, I selected "over 80" and it came back at £99.

It's annoying when everywhere's different for everything.

I don't think you're allowed to sell them on the open market, I think you have to sell them at the face value, through a special new website they're creating for it. To stop profiteering/opportunists/scammers.

I think this is hazy recollection, but if I recall correctly, secondary melanoma's (i.e. not the first one, but ones where the melanoma has spread locally) are sometimes nearly invisible and very difficult to spot. It's the reason that people after having skin cancer should be regularly checked by a dermatologist.

Poor old uncle has had moles & BCC & SCC & "horns" & Keratosis chopped & scraped away for years - sun damaged skin in 1940's - but nobody thought much about the dangers back then - a good tan showed you were fit healthy and probably richer than other people (unless you worked on a building site).

But it think it was the amelanotic 8mm deep one that got him.

They'll find a way round it, like selling a pencil and giving away a free Olympic ticket to the highest bidder.

Friends from far oop north tried to buy Olympic tickets; this was going to be their summer holiday - a week in London and trips to the Olympic events. They've got two sets of tickets for not very exciting things, so its not worth sacrificing the family holiday.

as far as i understand, most of the tickets sold on ebay aren't allowed to be resold, but noone does anything about it. e.g. wimbledon tickets cannot be resold (except for a small number of debenture tickets), but you can log in to ebay now and buy non-debenture tickets a plenty (as long as you're willing to part with about 10 x their face value, of course).

OH and I applied for a total of 30 different things between us, no athletics or anything, and got absolutely nothing.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
