It's telling me I need to move to a less rural area to see their picture. Low speed broadband just doesn't cut it.
I used to use that crossing most days when I was a contract cleaner. Nobody bothered about it then.0 -
How busy is it! There's a couple of girls hanging around by it at the moment, they don't seem to undertand the concept that if you stand by the kerb, the traffic stops. I've watched four vehicles stop for them so far, they keep waving them on.
Watched a guy just walk across it and back again after a bit of standing around. Now he's standing there again and the traffic keeps stopping for him...
EDIT: He's crossed it four times now, no, five!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Six. I think it might be a girl.
Another couple just came, walked across it and walked back again. I think they got it out of their system.
Six and a half. Stopped half way then came back again for a little sit down on the wall.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The guy with the black bottom/green top jacket??
How many pictures does he need
Someone should put a toll boot on that crossing. £1 per crossing, £5 if you want photo and maximum 10 seconds on the crossing.0 -
I go through there a few times a year. Never noticed so many people hanging around, though. Daft, aren't they?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Just got great news. Having applied for 20 Olympic events and knowing that we only won tickets for one of them, have now found out that it is for athletics and although we don't have tix for the final, we'll probably get to see Usain Bolt running (fitness permitting) in the Olympic stadium. Very excited! The day we have won tickets to has sold out entirely across all price bands, so brilliant news as we would not have got another chance. Good luck to anyone else waiting on ticket news today.
Applied for 40 events between me and the mrs and got 3.
We got table tennis mens team final, showjumping and weighlifting finals.
Nothing from the majority of the application (the most popular ones) which were cycling, athletics, swimming, rowing and gymnastics despite applying across more than one price band on every single one of them.
Over £5k applied for and total bill = £3670 -
I wish I was near. I'd go and wave to the Nice People.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I think my parents are getting 'sort of' swindled. They've been quoted £2,500 for cavity wall insulation, and loft insulation. They've also been told they are eligible for a government grant or '70%'. I don't think this is the case - but apparently what they are going to pay is £949. I think, personally, the typical cost of cavity wall insulation is much lower than £2500; I think for 140 m2 of wall, I would expect to pay around £500, and maybe £300 odd for the insulation.
In other words, I think they are being charged slightly over the market rate... but not much over the market rate. (and, it is quite an awkward job compared to most houses)
Has anyone had cavity wall insulation? Am I right that this just sounds like a con?“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
