I'll do the extra pressies in the morning before we leave for my parents....can't be bothered tonight!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

:xmassign: from me too. :santa2: Nice to see you FC. All on target then for the beach house!;)

Santa is on his way to the Sandwich Islands as I type, no doubt to pick up a bite to eat, but it's a long detour.
:xmastree:Dead useful this Google plug-in. Now I know I'm not going to bump into Santa while wrapping pressies at 2am! :)

:xmassign: A very HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you all. :santa2:

Life here's been pretty grim one way and another......BUT, some GREAT news today to brighten us up.... DH received notice of redundancy a month ago.... He applied for a fantastic secondment that just happened to crop up a couple of weeks back.... and....

He's been appointed :j and, because he would otherwise have been redundant, it's been made a permanent position!

So Christmas is ready, pressies are wrapped and it's a big WHEW from the treliac household.

    Cheers everyone. :xmassmile

Kids are now much better from 'flu' but DW is in major ache and pain plus cough despite paracetemol and she won't take ibuprofen as well as she is still breast-feeding

Tell her to go ahead and take it with a clear conscience. Medical opinion is overwhelmingly in favour of ibuprofen being safe while breastfeeding, with a possible exception for premature babies. Google it and you'll find lots of articles saying so.

It only gets into the milk in minute quantities, and kids are allowed to be given ibuprofen in much much bigger doses once they get beyond 6 months, and earlier with a doctor's recommendation. I don't know how old your baby is, but even if s/he is less than 6 months, the tiny quantity in breastmilk won't do any harm.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm awake and alone, it's quiet.
  • Morning All, Merry Xmas.

Hope everyone has a great day.

not yet, matey. I'm now on a coffee break, having spent the last 2 1/2hrs 'warming' our fleet of trains (-7 deg. here).

but it's not all heartbreak. finished in time for the local hostelry and then I get to cook the goose nobody else wants.

    a merry xmas.

Ah PN, I remember those days of hypos, emergency kits and having sweet drinks thrown around the room (999 was rarely called, he had so many and I got so good at giving emergency injections/sweetened drink, they would have been at our house at least 3 times a week otherwise!) .....it came home to me just how lightly I used to sleep when within a few days of him leaving, I could sleep through someone moving in their bed during the night, before I would be awake in an instant as I was on constant alert.

Such good news Treliac and a huge relief for you all.

    Merry Christmas to you all
