Just to add to the tax free list, there is no cgt on greyhounds as they count as wasting chattels. I think if it wins any races the proceeds are prob taxable though!

Just watched the programme on child poverty. What gorgeous, intelligent, understanding and articulate wee things they are. Any parent would be proud of them, without them having to face the adversity they do. The shame being that they are probably that grown up because of it. Very moving.

Agreed. I was surprised how economically aware they are. Also that they knew the ins and outs of the parents budgets at such a young age.

There were some ironic moments, like the dad searching the internet for jobs from his playstation3 and the girl in brand new wheelies talking about the family having no money.

The depreciation on a greyhound is pretty catastrophic when it dies.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Thanks loads. Fantastic resource, if only it had included more of the ones I've been quoted.

I have found a PDF from REC and done a little research. It may be that the other 14 panels haven't been installed long enough on the test site to be included, as it's an ongoing thing with yearly results.

    Anyway, here is the PDF:

The weak link is the inverter not the panels.
As an investment in making electricity it makes no sense.
As an exercise in farming the subsidies (FiT) it makes lots of sense to install photo voltaic panels and use the national grid as a huge battery.

Speaking of smells and perfume, my favourite scent has been discontinues and I still haven't found a replacement.

    What is it called?

A couple of quick questions (actually one quick and one long :o).

For NDG or anyone else who knows: What is a section 37 witness, please?

    s.37 of what Act?

It might mean rule 37 of the Coronors Rules 1984:
    37 Documentary evidence

    (1) Subject to the provisions of paragraphs (2) to (4), the coroner may admit at an inquest documentary evidence relevant to the purposes of the inquest from any living person which in his opinion is unlikely to be disputed, unless a person who in the opinion of the coroner is within Rule 20(2) objects to the documentary evidence being admitted.
    (2) Documentary evidence so objected to may be admitted if in the opinion of the coroner the maker of the document is unable to give oral evidence within a reasonable period.
    (3) Subject to paragraph (4), before admitting such documentary evidence the coroner shall at the beginning of the inquest announce publicly--
    (a) that the documentary evidence may be admitted, and
    (b)
    (i) the full name of the maker of the document to be admitted in evidence, and
(ii) a brief account of such document, and
    (c) that any person who in the opinion of the coroner is within Rule 20(2) may object to the admission of any such documentary evidence, and
    (d) that any person who in the opinion of the coroner is within Rule 20(2) is entitled to see a copy of any such documentary evidence if he so wishes.
    (4) If during the course of an inquest it appears that there is available at the inquest documentary evidence which in the opinion of the coroner is relevant to the purposes of the inquest but the maker of the document is not present and in the opinion of the coroner the content of the documentary evidence is unlikely to be disputed, the coroner shall at the earliest opportunity during the course of the inquest comply with the provisions of paragraph (3).
    (5) A coroner may admit as evidence at an inquest any document made by a deceased person if he is of the opinion that the contents of the document are relevant to the purposes of the inquest.
    (6) Any documentary evidence admitted under this Rule shall, unless the coroner otherwise directs, be read aloud at the inquest.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

It was a prada scent. The still do Infusion d'iris and a rose one, mine was orange blossom. (hideous packaging though, IMO). Thing is, even findin a bottle or two on the internet ony puts off the inevitable and I'd rather find something new.
