Oh - and for those thinking "Well - I'll drive, I need my car when I get there". You can't take your car to the Scillies.... ever.0

Or £8.50 here http://www.troytown.co.uk/content/availabilityandrates.php
Re getting to the Scillies, you can fly from Gatwick to Newquay, then Newquay to the Scillies.
Or, London to Bristol on the train, then Bristol to the Scillies by plane, although the airport will need a bus to reach from the train station.
Or, take the overnight sleeper from Paddington to Penzance, then fly or take the boat.
You can also fly from Land's End to St. Mary's. That's what we've done before - train from Paddington to Penzance, then either Land's End to St. Mary's, or helicopter from Penzance. Which is a lot of fun!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
And you certainly won't need it when you do get there!
There are quite a few private planes usually parked at St. Mary's, too. That's another travel option for you, PN?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

The Star Hotel on the main island's a posh 'un too.
the Island Hotel's ITRO £200 per person per night, I think. It does look rather nice, though....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Aus is crying out for something like that. And Quidco. It would probably be possible to wrap the two together.
MSE makes money from the links from the site which AIUI is used to fund the site and run a charity. Instead of the second bit you could return the cash to people like Quidco.0 -

The Queen went to the Scilly Isles on Friday. She'd not been for 45 years or so.0 -

Just need a couple of good programmers, one site designer - and a good marketing team.
Loads of money in it guv. But the responsibilities are quite onerous too, not so much getting the money end programming/working right, but the management of your great unwashed masses that can make or destroy your reputation overnight (almost).
If you're interested then it wouldn't take more than a day's good thinking to knock up an entire marketing plan and most of a business plan really.... after all, you have a blueprint
Edit: Oh - and a good IT Project Manager ... if you want to fly me out there for a week to get the plan together, sort out the details ...
SRSLY though - it is my belief that Australia aren't quite "in the game" yet Internet wise and there's a lot of cash to be made over there.0 -
Guys, if you are interested in an Aussie alternative, can I please suggest that you take it to PM and then to e-mail as the site that can most easily develop this is the one you're kicking the idea around on and therefore could be your biggest competitor in the earliest stages...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I hope she enjoyed herself.
Darling, how can one not take one's plane on holiday? We always do....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

If you go on someone else's plane/helicopter not only do you save the fuel costs but you don't risk being voted designated driver. That's probably why John Travolta is always grinning, he flies his own plane and hasn't been in the opportunity for a hangover for plenty of time.
edit: I do love helicopters and would love to get a licence to fly one. A lot. I'd love to have one. DH would hit the roof though.(that;s if we could afford it)
