I'm very funny about reheated food.....the only thing I can eat which has been reheated is my parents leek and potato soup or mine or theirs stew.

I can't eat bread which has been opened more than a day, I can't eat leftover meat from a roast, leftover chinese takeaway (including rice), even sandwiches made earlier in the day in a pack up sends my stomach into cartwheels...no idea why, it certainly was not the way I was brought up, I just get OCD about it and imagine all these nasty bugs storming into my system and it then makes me feel eek and sick.

Makes batch cooking absolutely impossible...defeats the purpose when I can't eat it (believe me, I have tried and it has ended up being wasted).

Re painting my kitchen - it never happened. After the fun and games of getting the kitchen ready for the new washing machine, moving the old one out etc, my joints are horrendous as are eldest's....but the washing machine is great, my washing mountain is gradually coming down and it is more like a washing hill now, not so daunting or depressing to look at.

It has also improved my mood, I no longer feel quite so low and waste of time'ish, amazing what being able to do your own washing does to you!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yay! So glad you are sorted for a washing machine now Sue. Not being able to do your own washing easily is a huge waste of time and effort. You can see what my prioirities are - WM connected on moving in day, utility room walls painted just over 3 months later. :o

lir - I'm chuffed to hear that we inspired you. Today I am going to tackle my twin washing mountains: the dirty stuff that needs washing, and the clean dry stuff that needs sorting and putting away. I am also going to unpack at least one box.

There, I have told the nice peeps I'm going to do it, so I'd better make sure I actually do. :o
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Male efficiency?

Or is it just I'll eat however much is on my plate?

If you were my H, I wouldn't even bother answering that question!

Family pack of wotsits before his eyes. Now, the contents of one bag or the contents of the entire big bag that contains 10 smaller bags?

Only 95 calories; he shows me on a little bag. Bonus

EDIT: I really miss  smilie. But I discovered that :wall: still exists, which I thought it didn't.

yeah, we can't really have anything "ready to eat" in the house, because i will just eat it. gets expensive!

on the subject of leftovers, i will eat anything, reheated or not. i draw the line at raw meat, but would think nothing of eating leftover chinese takeway that has been out of the fridge for a couple of days. yummy.

from time to time i don't mind the odd bit of raw beef, but if i wanted a snack (i.e. my normal state) and i opened the fridge and there was a raw steak in there, i wouldn't start taking bites out of it!

Quite a routine. Surely easier to cook the right amount each day? Surely you don't do this (ie regularly get amounts wrong) by accident?
When you're cooking for one it's a waste to just cook one lot - and often impossible to do. So you make 2-4 lots of stuff and just spend your entire life cooking stuff that you then have to eat for the next X days.

So in the 12 minutes it takes to cook the rice you've changed your mind about how hungry you are?

    <sigh>

    :D
Food looks different at different stages.

If I open a bag of oven chips and pour some out onto a grill pan they don't look a lot, so I add a few more. As they're cooking and I turn them they don't look enough. Once on the plate they look way too much.

Rice is difficult to get "1 portion" unless you actually weigh it out each time or have a handy measure that's the perfect size.

My rice steamer that I use is set up to do two portions, so I do two portions each time as I guess that by eye... but even so I sometimes put a bit more in, just in case, and then I have enough for 3.

So, in the land of "living by the skin of your teeth" or, making money online ... it's the end of the month and it didn't turn out too shabby at all!! Feeling quite invigorated by the final tot up.

Money's not money though in my world. When you go to work you go all month and are paid. End of. In my world it's different.
1] Some things are earning money, but you have to reach a payout threshold, then on the next 1st/15th of the month you get it.
2] Some things are earnt, but you don't get paid it until 15th of the following month (e.g. Mr G)

What I received in May, therefore, is different to what I earnt. If that makes sense. It's easy to count stuff twice IYSWIM.... and have a feeling that you're doing well, when in actual fact you saw the money arriving today as being part of last month's earnings and because it's just arrived you mentally see it as this month's earnings too... it can give a false illusion of what you've got really.

And, ultimately, the only one I can 99% guarantee will pay out and won't claw back is Mr G.

you can never have enough chips. you need to get a bigger plate!

one portion of rice is 1/4 of a tea mug, so i cook one mug of rice and the mrs eats three teaspoonfulls, even one's happy.
