Evening all! Just stopped by to say hi and that I won't be posting as much over the next few weeks. Have got a few big jobs in at the same time and the juggling means I'll be working up to 11pm some nights and then going to bed before getting up and working. Probably until July.
Long enough tonight though to say Isaac looks adorable and could be a child model....Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

But no, he had today off, back in the rest of this week, and half-term is next week instead. So we had the weekend at my parents' house, but couldn't stay longer.Secondary schools are virtually forced to have the standard half term in the Summer term due to the GCSE/AS/A2 exam timetables. Primary schools have more leeway.
Indeed. It's very rare for a primary school to go against the general trend, though. It annoys parents who have other kids at other schools, and is even worse for teachers whose kids are at other schools.neverdespairgirl wrote: »He is ridiculously angelic looking. It's a front, he's not remotely angelic. He's a live wire of non-stop energy.
He does do the, "butter wouldn't melt" thing rather well, though:
He looks lovely, NDG. There's something about the smile that fits with your description of non-stop energy, though. Maybe it's just that I can recognise it because my two are like that too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
The party, it turns out, is 2 doors down. Kids of rich Londoners who bought a 2nd home and have turned up to party. They've got a huge outside balcony, about 18'x12' and big patio doors onto it. Balcony's on the 2nd floor. So the patio door's wide open and they're in/out/in/out and hollering and screaming... they have a gaggle of gobby bints in there.
Had to close my window to cut down on the noise, but can still hear them shrieking through the double glazing. So I can't work and can't sleep until they've passed out from alcohol abuse0 -

No point ringing the local constabulary I presume?
This is why we should all be allowed to have rocket launchers...0 -

They should have an online reporting facility .... easier to do that than make an actual call.
I could call it in as a "suspected rave/squatters in a holiday home that's been empty for months". Seems a bit more important than "annoying loud farkers"0 -
Well, in that case chuck a hand grenade in. No one will miss a few annoying idiots from that London!0

It's half term. I am going to try to make some progress with my house. Over the weekend I put a first coat of paint on about a third of the utility room walls. I'm planning to finish the first coat today, and put a second coat on the bit that's already dry. Also, I've got another person coming to quote for PV panels tomorrow. I want to fix up another quote or two as well.
Well, the utility room is now white all over. The kids and I finished it today. (OK the glossing still needs doing, but that will wait.) Friends tomorrow, but need to get on with dealing with more boxes on Wed/Thurs.
ETA I am insane. Tuesday is the day my cleaner comes - usually when we're all out at work/school. Today I have invited a friend with three noisy/active children. I also have someone coming to quote for PV panels. How am I going to make all 5 children refrain from trashing the house until the cleaner has gone? Thank God it's not raining.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? The old washing machine is out...great fun. Eldest was not having a good day and had struggled in his part time job as his joints were having a more dislocating day than normal...and then he has to come home and help me move it.
It took me, youngest and eldest to move it outside to the garden where we just dumped it by the side of the shed...today we will be working out how to move it from there to the boot of the car to take it to the tip.
Thanks to everyone for the instructions, it was easy peasy in the end and I think we could have connected the new one up it was so straight forward...never mind, it didn't cost much extra and at least I know it is going to be set up properly.
I'll know for next time.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
