Holidays included, I have been to Czech Republic, France, travelled almost the length of Denmark (in one weekend), Italy, Spain and Belgium.
I apparently went to Germany when I was a baby, and have one memory of going to Switzerland when I was 3. I remember going to Greece when I was 5, then family holidays in Italy for 3 years from the age of 10, and then 3 years in France, and 4 in Spain & Portugal. Also a New Year's holiday in Cyprus.
I went on a 2 week school trip to Moscow when i was 14, that was fantastic. When I was 18, I went to live & work in Poland for a year, and went all over the place - Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria.
After my first year at uni, my best mate and I spent 3 months in Romania, Bulgaria, Istanbul, then north to Russia and the Ukraine.
After my second year at uni, we went to India for a couple of months.
After my third year at uni, OH and I spent the summer camping and travelling in Mongolia.
I also got paid-for trips for debating when i was at uni, to Athens, Manilla, and Japan.
Since starting work, OH and I have been on holiday to Portugal, Madeira, Malta twice, Italy a couple of times, ski-ing twice in France, and Israel 7 times....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Someone on the Tesco DTD thread had a sig in hebrew. When I tried to copy it to google translate it, the cursor moved the wrong way, so right arrow moved left. Most odd, I know the language reads right to left but I didn't expect it to be able to control the cursor.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The printed and hand-written types are even more different than the Latin letters, though, completely different, really!
So the first letter of the alphabet, aleph, is hand-written like this:
But printed like this:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Haven't you heard? They can do anything. I believe they are somehow connected to some strange race of lizard people who release maggots or something from the chem trails in planes and manipulate the silver and gold markets. (roll eye smilie) I never quite get the fascination with Jews by conspiracy theorists.0 -

I used to have a twin tank, with what was supposed to be an automatic switch-over, which failed a couple of times... but once you've got an empty you have to disconnect it, then lug it somewhere ... then lug in the new/full one and connect it up.
I used to have to buy my tanks (4' high orange ones) from the site owner, then balance it on a sack barrow and manoevre it along the roadway, over the speed bumps, up a kerb, along a narrow walkway, then follow the paving slabs round to the back of my van.... connect it, get the empty onto the sack barrow and cart that back.... in winter this meant doing it in the ferkin cold/wind/rain too. It also had to be done during daylight, which mostly meant on a Saturday morning; I couldn't risk running out entirely, so once one was empty it HAD to be replaced the next Saturday, whether I fancied it, or had time for it, or not.0 -

Well that's the best explanation I've heard so far! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

My holidays were a fortnight in caravans, in the back gardens of farmers.... and the roofs leaked. We'd get up, go sit on the beach, then go back home for tea. The caravans had an outside chemical toilet and gas mantles in the vans.
When I was 18 somebody I knew was moving to London, she asked me to go/share a flat. I wasn't allowed; parents said they'd disown me if I went there. They told me I'd be kidnapped and murdered if I went.
I was brought up with the fear of everything being drummed into me.... and still am really.0 -
My parents used to have it at their previous Kent house, but I think the bottles were delivered. I could be wrong....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
