Bead curtains though tend to be ticky tacky plastic things ... I bet a hand-made one'd cost two arms, one leg and a kidney.
I wasn't thinking of bead curtains, in the 1960s we used to have brightly coloured thin plastic strips - everybody had them (on our council estate).
PC's playing up/connection's dire and most sites aren't loading or I'd get some examples.0 -
When you actually google/look, there are a lot of solutions in everybody's price range.
Here's an almost instant, large, mesh door for about £11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Instant-Door-Insect-Screen-Bugs-Blinds-Mosquitos-606-/280676724424?pt=UK_HG_ScreensShutters_RL&hash=item4159a2eec8
These are the sort of strips I meant, from £4 upwards at various places online: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RETRO-Style-Slat-type-Door-Curtain-Bug-Fly-Strip-Blind-/300555858433
With a bit more to spend, there's the posh option: http://www.chainscreens.co.uk/
Or make your own, by buying the strips of plastic, or beads, by length: http://www.chainscreens.co.uk/acatalog/Bead___Candy_Twist_Fly_Screen_Spare_Parts.html0 -
They are incredibly cheap and hugely increase your quality of life.
If (when?) we move back to Europe we'll be having some of them.
I thought the move to Australia was a permanent one?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I was going out tonight, but by back has other ideas and I'm sofa bound.
Still, means I can watch the smurfs again on eurovision

SO part of the reason for having the super expensive folding door is so that the entire opening can be , well, open but is it possible to have a flyscreen that can also open completely if needed? May be a sort of roller blind screen?I think....0

Do flyscreen doors stop ants?
I oubt it. I think they'd get in through the bottom, not of the screen but UNDER the door bit IYSWIM.
I can't remember ants in the house when I was a child though, apart from in UK!
The other thing is that sometimes big crabs used to get through breaking the screens. (shudder). That used to terrify me. But not generally a problem in UK!0 -
I just had to find the estonia one on you tub for DH who is cooking supper. we think, depsite the carping from Mr Norton, its a catchy tune with just enough oddity to stand out....puppet dancers are of the velcro skirt sort of ''yer what'' ness and well up there in the tradition of eurosongs.0

I thought it was a bit Bjork-ish, but not quite as good. Definitely quirky though, one of our faves. We like Finland and Serbia here. Oh and Denmark. What song does this remind me of?
