    1 cubic metre is 1000litres.

you can buy 225litres for £13 from wickes (or similar). So to get myself out and haul around some bags would be cheaper.
Unless I've made a mistake in the calculations?

    4 x75 litres for £13.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

so, 300 litres for £13. A cubic metre is £44 (rounded up). And petrol etc but still half the price :(

    No, your calculation is correct.
    225L for £13 is a good price.

We got shunted from behind on the way to school this morning. It seemed quite minor - the car's not too bad - dented back bumper and that's all. I'm OK, and so is ds and my brother who was with us. Dd seems to have whiplash, though.

She complained immediately of neck pain. I made her go to school at least for the first 45min so we could see ds in his class assembly, but when the assembly was over I asked her how she felt and took her home because she said it still hurt. We've been advised just to give painkillers and a cold pack and call the doctor back if she was sick or started getting numbness in her arms or legs. Well, the arms and legs are OK but she's just been sick and although she says her neck's not hurting much now, she's tired and not her usual whirlwind self.

My amazing brother is clearing up the sick and I've just called the doctor - well, the receptionist. The doctor's going to call me when he's finished dealing with the emergency patient he's with now. It's been a hectic day - I was on the phone to the doctor this morning when the men arrived to deliver the piano that my parents no longer play. I was sooo glad to have a second adult around!

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I got my first grey at 40 ... so started having my hair streaked, although it needs doing again as I've left it to "grow out" as long as possible and now I think if I have that good trim it'll all be gone and I can start again.

I can't say I've noticed any grey in it ... I guess if I really had a good look I might be able to track down well under a dozen. Hadn't really thought about it before, until the grey thread started here...

Glad you are ok - these things are sent to try us. Do make sure you get DD looked after properly too and I guess although this is probably not uppermost in your mind start recording everything you have to do differently because of the accident in case it ends up as a claim.

    Thanks michaels.

The doctor said to take her to A&E just in case. My brother dropped us off there and then went on to school to pick up DS. DD and I were at A&E for rather more than two and a half hours, but when we eventually saw a doctor they checked her over pretty thoroughly and decided she didn't need an X-ray. It's whiplash, but should get better with rest and maybe painkillers if she needs them. The doctor said the GP probably said to take her in because being sick after a head injury is a danger signal. However, being sick after whiplash without any head injury isn't worrying at all. She thought it was probably delayed stress, particularly because the bang reminded DD of the big accident in November 2009. She's perked up quite a lot now, so I'm feeling happier about her.

While we were in A&E, my brother brought DS home from school, got into my car and drove it to the repair place that my insurers wanted me to use. They then walked and bussed back into town to meet DD and me, and we all went to the car hire place (insurers ditto) and picked up a 10 reg Zafira, which we can use for as long as it takes to fix my car, and Direct Line will pick up the tab.

So it's all fine. My plan to use today to get my brother to help assemble the trampoline hasn't worked out, and the kids have missed out on the planned trip to the woods to build a den with their uncle, but otherwise there's nothing significant in the way of consequences. Oh, and I'm told that when I get my car back, it will have been cleaned inside as well as out - good luck to them dealing with the grime that accumulates under the kids' booster seats!! :o

I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't an April fool ;)

That's brilliant! Near me there was a speight of digging up the road to pull out the copper, not in the towns themselves, but on the quieter stretches of road between the towns. Apparently it stopped when they realised it had been replaced with fibre-optics.

Hey Lydia, have finally got through to the end of thread and just read about your DD. Hope she feels better soon, whiplash is horrible.

I haven't got lots of it.....just the odd strand here and there but the boys take the pee out of me when I leave it undyed.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
