    I've been Money Tipped!
Typically though the weather is less raw I'm colder because been out in it all afternoon :) Had hoped our pipes would defrost on the yard to day, but no :( Very annoying. Special horse tried to come into the house, she's had enough of it out there and fancies an evening of snuggling up on the sofa or curling up on the carpet.

Had the washing machine serviced yesterday, for the first time since we bought it 12 years ago. It's had over 16,000 hours of use, so I don't begrudge spending £130 getting the door seal replaced. My son pointed out that it's almost possible to get a new washing machine for that, though.

    Isn't that a DIY job?

So that is a complicated one!

Squirrels back, sitting on the seed tray feeding to their hearts desire :(

If the seed tray is freestanding on a pole, you could try smearing some vaseline on it so they can't climb up. I do this with my fence tops to keep the neighbourhood cats out. It does work, though I do feel somewhat embarrassed having to go out and get bumper sized tubs of petroleum jelly when its clear I have no sprogs in tow.

So that is a complicated one!

It took the repair guy around 30 minutes to do, and he knew exactly what he was doing. I have a feeling I'd have done it wrong, even though there are instructions available on the internet. It's not really like that video at all. Apart from anything else, it wasn't particularly obvious where the leak was coming from.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Thanks jelly. I'm a CILIP member, but hadn't seen it yet. It has given me some interesting ideas to raise at work. Great timing!

You could set up a small sideline making/flogging fat balls etc. Easy stuff. You've got the room for it.

At the rate they were charging for smaller quantities I could buy by the box load, stick them in fancy nets and flog them. 100 for £14.99 or 4 in a net for £1.99????

Be careful with nets, birds can get their claws trapped in them.

But yeah .... all you need is a spot of lifestyle branding and job's a good 'un.

Now, my top marketing tip of today is: Start a Club They Can Join.

Now, how this works is that instead of flogging some fat balls to people, you identify 12 different birds that might appear through the year .... and create 12 different balls. Now, it gets interesting. Now you get them to join the Fat Balls Club :)

"As the seasons change, you'll see lots of different birds visiting your garden - encourage and feed this ever-changing collection of wildlife as we send you fat balls each month that are suitable for the different birds throughout the year."

Bingo - you've just hooked into a monthly income :)

Chuck in a twice-yearly glossy A5 magazine, that you sell advertising space in .... and you're laughing all the way to the bank.

And there's more to this cunning plan ... but not on a public board where my pure genius could be used as a template for a fabulous multi-income-streamed business plan... my master plan would involve selling them the fat balls ... without even selling them the fat balls :)

    Genius..... I am.
