I'm very happy for you Lydia and your children. May you all really enjoy your own home. Glad the sellers left the house all clean nice, and nice touch from your work colleagues too. They must have been able to sense your excitement, to get and sign you such a card.
Thank you dopester. May things work out for you and your family too, and may you get a wonderful house for a price you can afford at the perfect timing for you.
As for me, I am happy that this is the right timing for my family. Probably not the best timing price-wise, but long enough after the accident for us to be able to deal with the process of packing and moving, and still far enough away from the school applications deadline that I didn't ever get to the point of stressing about whether we would have moved into the catchment I want in time for DS's application in the autumn.
Today we met the people from the other end of the row of 6 houses - very friendly, with one kid at the secondary school I want for mine, and another kid about to start there this autumn. They say there are several kids from the block who all go there, and they all tend to walk across the park together.
Yes, everyone at work is well aware how excited I am. That's partly because I'm an extrovert, so most people who know me are well aware of how excited I am. It's also because my work friends have been interested to watch the unfolding of the soap opera that is my life - the divorce that didn't quite get to decree absolute, the accident, and so on. They are lovely people, and have been very supportive: some of them helped me empty and then clean late-nearly-ex's rented house a year ago. So they are all so pleased for me to be telling them something positive for a change.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I have measured it and know it is 4ft long. I can see that it is 40w, but I can't work out how to remove it to take it down. Maybe if I say I want a fat 4ft long 40w one they'll know what I mean.
ETA: Have already changed the starter Michaels.
I gave up trying to find an affordable replacement tube for mine....so I just bought a new light fitting (non strip lighting) and went from there!
Drastic yes but a damn sight cheaper and less hassle. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

1 is the main reason. I made 2 up. That deserves a few more of these:o:o:o:o.0 -
I didn't have the 250 plus fitting for the exhaust
bah garages.
The backyard fix to that is an exhaust clamp. The garage of course wants you to buy parts off them, as many as possible please.
As far as I know it'd pass an mot so long as the clamp covered the hole, would take some skill rather then parts hence most places wont do it
Brakes sounds like they want to replace everything with new parts. It could be a case of cleaning what you have, obviously pads or disks wear but the actual gear should be serviceable0 -
They say there are several kids from the block who all go there, and they all tend to walk across the park together.
Now that sounds perfect for him! It's so nice to be able to walk to school, something to be valued. To have your friends around you when you're at home as well.
We have middle schools here, DS is 10 so I was petrified of letting him walk alone and had said no until he was in year 7 but there are six children that walk through the park to school, some are older and he's the last stop on the journey so I gave in.
I end up with a house full of kids and the dog jumping all over the place for a few minutes each morning!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Viva....take up PN's offer...send it only to her if you are embarrassed of us, but we'd be nice.
I've been checking on a thread this weekend where the poster was worried about their Bells Palsy....aha..I thought ...something I can post about with a helpful message of ''hang in there'' and truely understand how she feels (my first episiode of Bell's palsy....way predating the total brain brake was over ten years ago now!) And today s/he posted its affected the otherside. My heart is in my mouth for him/her. Bells palsy is not serious in its own right....but I remember when my TGN was diagnosed (same nerve and a symptom of the bigger problem for me)and they said..its only really worrying if its i both sides of your face (it was only on the left for a while...before the right side joined in!). I hope the emergency doctor was good.
Its a bit useless sometimes the net, you can't drive someone to hospital from t'internet.
Lydia...great news about the school posse. I kno the people you work with can only be supportive and friendly towards you...you inspire such from people.0 -

hrms...do i bake melting moments or not?
Baking always is a good move. It makes the world a controllable place...even when you only bake for the freezer. I like to step into a new week armed against antagonism with cake and biscuits to feed the antagonists with.
We've notice the whole in my meal plans...which is tonight. We have plenty but its all frozen. This opens up a word of choice. I've assured DH I can't get the venison defrosted marinated and cooked by tonight...but he's dithering over a pasta dish with the last of the (froozen) Christmas ham or some fish while bringing me in some more logs.0 -

I'm sure the razor looking necklace can be marketed as gothic.
My neighbour has Bell's palsy. The doctor palmed him off with "it'll be gone in 2 weeks" 6 weeks ago. He's lost some hearing in one ear and his eye keeps getting infected through the tear duct not working properly and leaving his eye dry. All temporary problems but he's been really knocked back by it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
