clicked too soon.
Could you knock down the wall between the library and the study and make that a dining room? At least then the soup isn't cold/ spilt before it arrives from the kitchen.
Its the same distance.:) And the shape of the ''library'' is perfectly proportioned....but the other rooms are already a bit...pokey:o0 -

Stairs would still go through the dining room though and there may not be enough room for them to do the whole rise without a corner? also garages are always useful for storage. which way is South. Am I right in thinking it is a corner plot with the garage and conservatory both 'road' sides?
Lydia are you happy for us to discuss this here?
Yes. The bit with the garage & kitchen window is visible from the road. The bit with the conservatory and the windows of the dining room and living room is also facing a road rather than another house, but it's enclosed by high fencing.
I don't mind people discussing it here because I don't think many people know where I am in the country, so I think they'd be hard put to it to identify the house just from a floorplan.
It's interesting to know what people would do with it.
I've been trying to follow the discussion about what lir should do with her house, but I can't hold the plans in my head long enough to understand what the discussion's about. I think I need to print them out so I can have them in front of me while I am reading the comments.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I'm utterly confused by all these plans and everyone's chatting in mixed conversation
I had some thoughts about Lydia's house but it's gone now, I think the exercise bicycle followed by having dinner has turned me into post-prandial nap stage.0 -

I know what I would do if I ever had as much space as Lydia. Turn the garage into the kitchen so it's next to the utility room, turn the family room into the kitchen, knock through kitchen and dining room to make a big living room with a library corner and turn the living room into the family area. Conservatory then is fine where it is.0

Maybe it is. I did these plans myself, so they may have all sorts of non standard things about them.vivatifosi wrote: »It does look lovely though.vivatifosi wrote: »On a different note DH is going away for a bit shortly and I'm planning to redec master bedroom while he's away without telling him. Do you think that's naughty of me?
Well, what sort of husband is he? It's not naughty if he's the sort who'll say "What a wonderful surprise, I was dreading having to find time to do that" or the sort who'll privately think "I still don't understand why she keeps wanting to change the colour but if it keeps her happy then I'm not really bothered what it looks like" or even the sort who won't notice it's changed until somebody tells him. However, it probably is naughty if he's likely to come home and shriek with horror, exclaiming "What have you done??!! We agreed we'd keep it white and simple and clean. How could you ruin it with all these bright orange and purple stripes?"Do you know anyone who's bereaved? The upstairs still is giving me heebeegeebies. That bathroom is the bit we weren't sure about....its a bedroom now, and no way to master room without going through a bedroom. The thing we worry about is the plans comprimise the bedroom in th middle, which is a very beautiful room. We've tried several other options on paper....but its good silvercar likes this one. Its the bit that worries me most.
We won't the the 2nd floor in first push. Or anytime soon. ....but will have it like bedroom five at both ends, and another room in the middle...very simple and easy up there!0 -

Thanks. It's fascinating how we'd all do different things with it. I think you've got two kitchens in that description, though!
I'm not going to convert the garage to anything. I need it for storage.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
