  • Is it correct that debt collectors cannot come to your house and demand payment if its not been through the court?

They can come to your house and request payment from you, but they have no powers to demand anything at all, if one turns up for a parking ticket tell him to sod off away from your property!

But its not going to happen trust the wisdom of various posters on here, they just send out fake demands, and if you ignore they go to the next mug who might pay !
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Thanks everyone. It just goes against everything i would normally do to ignore the ticket. I will ignore it and wait and see what happens, if they weren't so greedy and the ticket was for a reasonable amount of money then i probably would have come straight home and paid it. IF i start to faulter and think about paying then i'll just come on here and read up and i'm sure that will strengthen mu resolve!

A debt collector cant come to your house period, unless you invite them. Under OFT guidelines they must inform you when they are going to call. They could cold call but you just send them on their way. You then make a complaint about them!

Its early in your letter chain, they may send you letters threatening everything under the sun, but that's all they are threats. They try and bully people in to paying.

PS: Incidentally who is the invoice off, then we can advise how much you can laugh, and what to expect.:D
