BT playing snide games caught in a loop

On the 27th November 2009 we moved into a new property and took out a new contract with BT for broadband & BT Vision.

Today [2nd December 2010] we get a letter saying we have cancelled our broadband contract and service will terminate on the 27th November 2010. First off today is the 2nd of december and secondly the letter was generated and posted out on the 28th November!!

As far as we were concerned we had signed up to an 18th month contract to tie in with the 18month contract on BT Vision [which is completely useless ] Now they are saying that we have to sign up for a further contracted period tying us to them once again, just because we have 6months left on the BT vision contract

They are swearing blind we have cancelled the contract and must sign a new one to continue service, strange really as here i am on the internet right now on the line that they cut off on the 27th November!!!!

In May we were going to severe all ties with BT as for the money we are paying and what we are getting the SKY package is a far better option.

Someone throw me a bone here, they are just being ignorant to the max towards us

After my recent experiences with BT,my contract ends May 3 2011 & I'm away from them like a shot!
  • Was that a special package as BT vision is usually 12 months and broadband 18 where as yours seems to be the other way round?

Having BT Vision requires you to have BT Broadband as well, you cannot receive the interactive content via any other ISP.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

We know this, thats why we initially asked for an 18month contract which they said was fine

    Hi Jaymz1976,

I can look into this for you and see exactly what's going on. Can you email your BT account details and a link to this thread to the email address registered against my profile, and I'll get back to you?

    Thanks,

Try escalating to Ian Livingston, BT Group Chief Executive, via sending him an email to ian.livingston@bt.com.
