Exmork Wind Turbines

buy cheap buy twice
best bet replace the electrical stuff - charge controller & inverter
with decent european gear eg steca/sma/phocos
and any bearings/mechanical with nsk/skf
if it broke under waranty , what chance has it in a british winter
they quality remains long after the price is forgotten
old rolls royce slogan
olaceI purchased earlier this year 2 wind turbines from Exmork in China, so far in high winds both units have failed badly one off killing the controller and the other burning out the turbine itself.
I have found that the manufactures have failed to offer warranty and have now sent over 30 emails with pictures and still they are not helpful.
the moral of this story is don't buy Exmork wind turbines, they don't protect themselves in high winds and fail!!0 -
I was disgusted at Exmorks reply on this site, this was not Spam, i was just passing on my personal findings to help others learn by my experiences.
In reply to Exmorks reply i have the following comments:-
The turbine failed because of its inability to handle gusting winds, ity was a storm but was SUNNY, not hit by lightning!!!
It happened twice, it seems perfectly happy at low winds but on two occasions it failed and i have only had two high wind situations, the first time the controller fried the second times the windings blown.
My company is a winding company and i was disappointed at best.
I have sent over 30 emails and they have offered replacements but never once sent them, just talk!!!
Still waiting!!
The latest is that they are refusing to send the parts unless i delete this post, NEVER!!!!
I am currently uploading a website (1 page) which i will advertise using google Adwords, i know it will cost me but i am so bitter.
These companies need to know the meaning of Service, how dare they call me dishonest!!
Sorry for my rantings !! you all need to know ands dont make the same mistake.0 -
The new Feed in Tariffs in the UK are dependent on the turbine meeting a new MCS standard. That'll put a stop to the gallops of Exmok et al. Some of these low cost turbines have been found to be downright dangerous. Chief among these has been controllers that fail to keep the turbine under control, allowing them to grossly over-speed.
The problem is that for those of us trying to manufacture wind turbines, we now face costs of about £80,000 to have our turbines certified. Worse, if you change anything subsequently, you have to re-test the turbine, so making a small improvement to a bearing design might cost you £80K intead of 50p. We have developed a turbine which has survived everything we could possibly throw at it (including a few things we threw at it by accident). It is simple, rugged and pretty indestructible, but you won't be finding it on sale in the UK anytime soon, or at least until we have decided that we've finished changing anything we want to change.
The sad upshot of all this is that UK customers now have a very small list of turbine suppliers that they can deal with, and the new feed-in tariff is subsidising a very small number of turbine suppliers. The reason for this is that unscrupulous suppliers are willing to put wind turbines at the market that can self-destruct with catastrophic consequences.0
