Exmork Wind Turbines
I purchased earlier this year 2 wind turbines from Exmork in China, so far in high winds both units have failed badly one off killing the controller and the other burning out the turbine itself.
I have found that the manufactures have failed to offer warranty and have now sent over 30 emails with pictures and still they are not helpful.
the moral of this story is don't buy Exmork wind turbines, they don't protect themselves in high winds and fail!!

So you bought two wind turbines directly from an unheard of company in China? Why did you do that?0

Thanks for the warning/info. Its brave to post about a mistake to try to help others."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

They are probably in shock they actually produced any electricity before failing.
Did you pay with a credit card? Would that cover it?
Did the controller not have an overspeed/voltage protection?
I read quite a bit about DIY ones, A few made the mistake of putting one up to test it without
putting safety measures in place. Always wire up safety circuits before testing the turbine.
One guy setup several electric heaters to dump excess power to, Actually used double the turbines maximum
output as a just in case measure.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
It's interesting to see what's apparently the other side of a story, but I hope you got the permission of your other happy customers before splashing their personal contact details about on the Internet.
[Update: Wise decision to edit out the contact details and email addresses, Exmork]
You should also be aware that you need to get permission before posting as a company representative on this forum, so the OP could probably report your post as forum abuse, and possibly get it removed, if you have not.0 -
exmork, apart from not having permission to post as a company representative, there is a law called the Data Protection Act in the UK. Posting on-line detials of customers without their direct consent is against the law.
There is an EU law that prohibits posting of customer comment without express written consent as well, which you have broken. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
strange how the maufacturer knew there was a post on here about them by someone who only has done one post;)Work to live= not live to work0

There is an identical post from both on another forum, both first time posters again, I've reported both as spam.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »strange how the maufacturer knew there was a post on here about them by someone who only has done one post;)Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Wonder if the OP will sue Exmork for millions of pounds and wont need to worry about electricity bills ever again.
Publishing his name on a public message board. Naughty.
Sure you have put off some potential buyers because you do not know how data protection works.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Exmork is in China, I am sure EU or UK law will be p*55ing in the wind if they try and stop them posting whatever personal data they wish
Let's be realistic here, OP bought cheap wind generator from a China based supplier, just what did they expect? Full UK consumer protection?

True, but only if the assumptions that you and I have made about buying direct are correct. If not, and the OP bought from a UK-based importer, then he is chasing the wrong people...0
