It didn't sound like a frost stat problem but would be worth checking.

Put one in a week ago that was kicking in at random between 5-17 degrees.
Just thinking that it could be the boiler control is off but the thermostat is faulty & the frost stat is kicking in.Not Again0 -

In the OP Di makes no mention of the house being hot.
I would assume it would be if the frost stat kicked in.

Might have therm valves on the rads.
So possibly only one or no hot rad.
Anyway. Just a thought.
I would def check the room stat first.
Another thought. I wonder where the boiler actually is situated & if there is (another)a frost stat nearer the boiler. Not Again0 -

If you have an intermittent problem than you need to make sure it's in fault state before you get someone in. not sure what you mean by in fault state.
As long as the pump has a circuit to pump water around it will be fine. it seems to.
I would assume as the boiler has pump overrun then it would have a bypass to accommodate this. bypass?

the pump stopped after i had turned on then off the hot water. maybe the motorised valve?0 -

Well, you need an engineer out now so no need to worry about the pump.
Don't forget to put your immersion heater on for hot water. Not Again0 -
