I have tried a couple of microwave fudge recipes and they turned out rather pants, so I'm sure I did something wrong. I'm going to try the Nestle one though, and I have bought a sugar/jam/sweet thermometer just for the job! I bought it in my CoOp department store in town, and I paid just over £2 for it. They do come in more expensive varieties, but this one had a nice clip to fasten it onto the pan.0

There's a good website that I use to make loads of bath and beauty things, you just need to remember the american conversions.

I also go to a charity recycling shop near me that sell lots of art and craft things including jars for £3.50 a basket no matter what you get. Maybe you could see if there is something like it near you.
Enjoy creating!0 -

Thanks very much for your suggestions about glass jars (and the link). I will certainly look on ebay (didn't think of that!) but if nothing suitable, it's off to Ikea for me!0

Also, wait until tomorrow. The last batch I made (purely for testing of course ) we started to eat too soon and it tasted more like cheap fudge, sort of chewy instead of grainy. What was left of it the next day had changed in texture and was gorgeous.:smileyhea0 -
