Best for Unlimited Net Access
I'm nearly at the end of my 18 month T-Mobile contract. I have an HTC Hero from that deal, which I'm very happy with.
I mainly use the phone for 'always on' Internet access in the background. Very low call usage, and moderate text usage.
I'd ideally not like to be tied to a heavy contract when I renew at the end of tjis month and, because of the handset have been paying £40 per month.
Also, 0845 and 0800 number with low-cost would be a bonus
Any suggestions when I come to haggle with T-Mobile?
I am happy to change providers entirely if necessary but, except for another 'billing issue' T-Mobile have been good regarding customers services and the reception's usually pretty good.
TIA,
Tim

giffgaff have free internet until next Feb if you top up before then, but after that you will have to pay £15 a month to maintain the unlimited internet, with unlimited texts and 300 mins,
but I would think personally for you virgin mobile you can get 1GB of data a month for £5 (effectively unlimited, cirtainly more than enough for web browsing and push email and a few youtube vids) you can then let the rest of your top up be used for texts and calls as per needed.
and if you top up £10 a month you get 300 free texts, spend £5 of that top up for the 1GB internet, and then the remaining £5 can be used for calls
or actually you can top up £15 a month you get unlimited texts (I think 3000) and 1GB internet for that month, then you still have the £15 top up to use for calls - pretty good IMO
the tarrif offer info and a the costs
if you have virgin media you can get the 8p tarrif
or even the £10 30 day contract here but you would have to pay extra to call 08 numbers so in that respect the PAYG is better.0 -
Thanks for the info. As we're already Virgin customers, I might go for the £10 per month 30 day rolling tariff which has 1gb of Net access, which should be ample - as long as the reception's good.

I think Virgin 'piggy back' onto T-Mobile. I'll post another question regarding their reliability as far as mobile data reception's concerned.
Best,

Check the Tariff as to overcharges i know some but not all VM tariff now cap over usage of data charges once you go past the daily 25MB limit to " £2 max a day you get on direct debit for certain . .jje0

T-Mobile were doing a £7.50 12 month sim only deal (increased to £10) there is a thread or 2 on here, you could try using that as your haggling point.
There is a number you can dial to get 0800 numbers included in your monthly mins.0 -

After February, you just need a £10 goodybag from giffgaff for the unlimited internet not a £15 one.0 -
I'm on T-Mobile and got an upgrade at the end of my contract, got a HTC Wildfire, 300 mins / txts, unlimited landline call and 3 GB data a month for £10 a month (phone was free as well). I'd talk to T-Mobile I'm sure there retentions team will sort you out.0

Good idea Tyler. How long is your new contract for, if you don't mind my asking?
Cheers,
Tim0
