and switch your virus scanner to avast, it's lighter on ram than the rest.

You run the program, which produces a log file (text). Select all the text in the log, right click to copy and paste into this thread. It works.
Re the original problem-just put in some more RAM-XP needs 512MB minimum to be workable.

Have a look at the Crucial Memory Advisor. You should be able to scan your system and the memory advisor will tell you what type of memory would be compatible. An extra 1GB stick for the standard "Aspire One" (top option in the list of models) costs £16.44 including VAT, so if it isn't this exact type of memory you need, it will probably be a similar price.Do you mean if i uninstall avg and install avast that would help to make it quicker ?
I think that is what was meant. Incidentally, I find that Avira AntiVir uses even less system memory than Avast...0 -
yes, however until you post the log and commit charges, we are all guessing.
avira (and avg) uses more memory than avast, it has lots of processes that popup that you won't see running all the time!!
