Wireless laptop unable to find Router

I had this problem with my HP laptop.....HP use Broadcom also...It would not connect to the Netgear router...
Problem solved by an updated driver...It solves the slight incompatibly problem..

I had same prob with my new HP lappy - would not 'see' the 3COM router even though I was next to it.
I changed channels and it 'saw' it.
Easy fix!

Thanks for all the tips I will try and slove the problem today.How do they know the "driver is corrupted
my neighbour says that he pays a techie site a subscription and they check all his devices by internet.
